A reminder to all Clayton County residents that the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) Open Burning Ban will be in affect May 1st through September 30th. Clayton County is one among 45 surrounding counties that are subject to the open burning ban during the summer months. The ban is in effect from May 1 through September 30 each year.

Resident who wish to report open burning should contact the Georgia EPD, Mountain District Atlanta Office at (404) 362-2671. The Georgia Open Burning Ban Fact Sheet (Rev: (04-16-03)) covers information on why the ban is needed, what types of open burning banned, and alternatives to open burning.
