We are one of two fire departments in the metro Atlanta area that is equipped with a certified arson investigation team. Investigator Lt. Tony Duck and Jake, a Labrador retriever, have both been certified by the Maine Criminal Justice Academy through a program underwritten by State Farm Insurance Companies.

The program trains dogs to sniff out accelerants used in arson fires. State Farm is underwriting the training of accelerant-detection canines for state and local fire departments and law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.
