How The Reward Program Works

At the discretion of the reward committee, up to $10,000 may be paid for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for planning or committing arson.

The Reward Committee will consider reward nominees from the following sources:

  • Individuals who provide information by calling the toll-free Arson Hot Line in the State Fire Marshal's Office. (1-800-282-5804)
  • Individuals nominated by a fire chief, police chief, prosecuting attorney, or fire marshal.
  • Individuals who provide information by writing to:

Georgia Arson Control, Inc.
551 Thornton Road
Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122

Procedures have been established to safeguard the identity of informants who wish to remain anonymous.

No official of any organization is empowered to promise or give a reward prior to conviction or before officially approved by the Board.

Law enforcement, fire department, court officials, insurance claims personnel and their families are not eligible for rewards.
